Receiving Jesus into our heart is only the beginning of an odyssey that will blow your mind. He’s not interested in staying in the entry way, He wants to go on an excavating mission to uncover the Kingdom treasure within you – He wants to know you deeply and intimately. For people who’ve experienced trauma or a troubled upbringing, this can cause a sense of dread as to what He may find, like some evil lurking and waiting to reveal that we’re rotten to the core.
If you’ve ever felt that way, I hope this brings you some comfort like it did when God revealed it to me. The core of our being is where we were conceived in God’s thoughts, before the very foundation of the world. This is our essence and the deepest part of our heart, for you can’t go any deeper than this space. Here, we’re shown that we are holy and blameless, with an unstained innocence in His eyes.
It’s true that in this journey that only the courageous in heart embark on, many unholy things will be uncovered. Things you did and things that were done to you, but the uncovering is for the lie to be exposed and the truth of Jesus to be revealed, so you can be free and healed.
Let this saturate your soul today: at your core, you have an unstained innocence.
Matthew 7:21-23 – “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Ephesians 1:4-6 – “And in love he chose us before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.
For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace —for the same love he has for the Beloved, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!”
Song of Songs 5:2 – “Arise, my love.
Open your heart, my darling, deeper still to me.
Will you receive me this dark night?
There is no one else but you, my friend, my equal.
I need you this night to arise and come be with me.
You are my pure, loyal dove, a perfect partner for me.”
